Diaz’s career in Hollywood began in the early 1990s, when she landed her first major role in the hit film “The Mask” alongside Jim Carrey. Her natural comedic timing and charm quickly made her a rising star, and she went on to star in a string of successful romantic comedies and action films.

Despite her success, Diaz admits that she never fully felt like she belonged in the Hollywood scene. In her interview, she explains that she always felt a bit out of place and constantly had a nagging feeling that there was more to life than fame and fortune.

In 2017, after 25 years in the industry, Diaz decided it was time to step away from acting and retired from Hollywood. She explains that the decision didn’t come from a lack of love for acting, but rather a desire to explore new passions and focus on her personal life.

Since her retirement, Diaz has embraced a quieter life and has focused on her wellness and writing. However, when her good friend and former co-star, Selma Blair, approached her with a role in the upcoming film “The Sweetest Thing”, Diaz couldn’t resist. The film will mark her first acting role in four years, and she admits that it was the perfect opportunity for her to return to the industry one last time.

Diaz’s fans are eagerly awaiting her return, but the retired actress remains firm in her decision to leave Hollywood behind. She explains that she feels fulfilled and content with her life outside of acting and has no desire to return to the spotlight permanently. As she moves forward, Diaz remains grateful for the experiences and opportunities that her Hollywood career brought her, but is excited for the new adventures that await her in this next chapter of her life.
