Robert Downey Jr. Reveals Shocking Truth About His Time in Prison – Confirms Rumors

During the⁢ interview, Downey Jr. shared that he ‌could “feel the evil in the ⁤air” while in⁢ prison. ⁤It’s hard to ‌imagine the Hollywood superstar ‌in⁢ such a dangerous and unfamiliar ⁣environment. But in 1996, he was ⁣arrested ⁢for driving under the⁤ influence and later sentenced to three years in prison for violating probation.

According to reports, police ​found‌ heroin, cocaine, crack, and a .357 Magnum in his ⁣vehicle. Downey Jr. was sent⁢ to a receiving center called ⁤Delano, where he described the ⁣atmosphere⁢ as⁤ “the most dangerous place” ⁤he had⁤ ever been ⁢in his life.

He also recalled⁢ his⁢ first moments in the actual prison facility, saying ⁣it felt like being “sent to a‌ distant ⁢planet”⁢ with ⁣no⁢ way home until the ‍planets⁢ aligned.

In 2016,⁣ Downey Jr. was pardoned ⁤by California’s governor, restoring ​his voting rights.‌ While ‍his conviction was not wiped​ from his record, the⁣ governor’s office recognized his “exemplary behavior.”

It’s easy to forget that⁢ such a successful and beloved actor like Robert Downey ⁣Jr. spent a year of his⁢ life in‌ federal prison. But his journey⁢ from ⁣prison⁢ to Hollywood superstar is ‌a testament ⁣to ‌his resilience and determination.
